Early Literacy Skills Storytime & Class for Parents and Caregivers
. Shannon Schinagl, Maine State Library’s Emergent/Family Literacy and Children’s Services Consultant, will model a story time pointing out all the early literacy skills as she reads. The session will include handouts, question and answer session for adults, and a playtime for the children.

With fun, games and costumes. Children and their parents come dressed as pirates. We will make pirate flags munch crunchy goodies and have a walk the plank pirate parade, plus we’ll read some piratey books.

Applesauce: Making & Tasting
Peter Proeller (apple collector and preserver of fruits & vegetables) will teach children how to make this simple, delicious & nutritious fall snack. Then they’ll get to sample some!!
Let's Draw October Themes!
Children's Drawing Classes
Tuesdays at 4:00 PM in the Community Room. Children, and those young at heart, will explore fall and Halloween themes in the ongoing drawing classes led by Catinka Knoth. The "Let's Draw Together!" workshops, geared for ages 6 and up, also welcome adults. October's subjects may include: autumn leaves and trees; pumpkin patches and scarecrows; owls, bats, and cats; haunted houses; and a spooky Halloween with Jack-O-Lanterns, witches, goblins, and more.

Adult Drawing Classes
Catinka Knoth offers drawing October's autumn themes, with a focus on drawing in color, in the Community Room. Led by Knoth, participants will create their own colored drawings of apple motifs; fall leaves & autumn landscape scenes; and Halloween pumpkins. Knoth provides the classes free of charge and open to the general public, with materials supplied, and Friends of Rockland Library host.
