Destination Wellness Talk: Get Action! Engaging Kids in Physical Activity

Co-sponsored by Destination Wellness and the Rockland Public Library

Youth sports can change the world. Who knew?
Kids love to move, and Jesse Simko, Arena Director at The Midcoast Recreation Center in Rockport, is on a mission to help them learn valuable life lessons while they do it.

Engaging children in physical activity is a key to their health and wellness. Come hear Jesse discuss the importance of play and how he and the other instructors at the MRC teach physical literacy in fun ways. Kids who play together build relationships, overcome obstacles, and become part of a community that is trying its hardest to succeed. As Teddy Roosevelt said, “Get Action. Do things; don’t fritter away your time; create, act, take a place wherever you are and be somebody; get action.”
