Civil Discourse Workshop

The Library and the Midcoast Women’s Collective are co-sponsoring a workshop on Civil Discourse facilitated by Terry Hayes. The purpose of the program is to encourage rich and productive dialogue, to identify common ground, and learn techniques for communicating both effectively and respectfully particularly in difficult situations. Terry is a former state legislator, the current Maine State Treasurer, and she is a skilled and knowledgeable practitioner of, and advocate for, civil discourse.  After watching a short video that illustrates the possibilities and positive outcomes of civil discourse, Terry will facilitate both self-discovery exercises and group discussion/problem solving for future actions.
