City of Rockland Question #2 Bond Ordinance- Library Repairs

The Rockland Public Library, originally opened in 1904, with an addition added in 2001, is one of only twenty Carnegie libraries in Maine; this beautiful building is on the National Register of Historic Places. An in-depth engineering study, completed in December 2015, details significant structural and water intrusion issues in the old section, as well as some in the new. These must be addressed, in order to safeguard this valuable City asset, which serves about 150,000 people each year, and to ensure that this resource is preserved as a safe and secure library now, and into the future.  The Engineering Report may be seen below.

Rockland Public Library’s mission: to foster community & connection, offer resources to inspire & encourage ideas, and provide the tools to explore our past, enrich our present, & empower our future.

QUESTION #2  BOND ORDINANCE – LIBRARY REPAIRS

Plus an Amount Not to Exceed 2% to Pay the Cost of Issuance of any
